AI for pipelaying & drainage · New Zealand

The scope isn't on the drawing. It's in the documents behind it.

Pipelaying runs into two things that cost real money: permits that have to be away before anyone breaks ground, and scope buried in the spec pack that doesn't surface until it's too late to charge for it. We set up AI to handle both.

Where we'd start

The first three tools we'd set up for you.

Your AI Business Kickstart ($350, online) includes custom training pitched to your current AI capability plus the first of these tools, custom-built for your business. AI Accelerate ($1,200) adds three more custom tools and a half day of hands-on training. We use free or low-cost AI wherever it's up to the job — no new subscription to learn.

01

Permit & traffic management pack

One set of job details in, the whole pack back filled in: corridor access request, traffic management plan, service locate and pothole requests, work permit. The address, dates and description get typed once instead of four times.

It produces the documents ready to lodge — submitting them into the council portal stays with you.

02

Drainage scope builder

Give it the plans and the specification together. It comes back with the drainage scope, and separately a missed-scope list: the items the documents require that never appear on the drawing.

03

Job records and site photos, filed

Photos arriving by email from the crew, daily records and sign-offs filed against the right job instead of by hand — searchable when a variation or a dispute comes up a year later.

What the scope builder actually does

The plan says one thing. The spec pack says more.

Your metre rates are fine. The margin goes on the items sitting in the documents behind the drawing — and those are the ones that never get priced.

On the drawing

60 m of 100 mm uPVC lateral
Two junctions
One chamber

Also required by the specification

  • Jointing sealant to the nominated clause
  • Starter bars at the chamber
  • Two core drills, made good
  • Strip drain to the boundary

Those four lines are the difference between a job that makes money and one that doesn't. The tool reads both documents and hands you the list before you price it, not after.
